The Department of Defense has identified 3,823 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans over the weekend:

FONTENOT, Jarred S., 35, Staff Sgt., Army; Port Barre, La.; Second Infantry Division.

GAROUTTE, Erik T., 22, Cpl., Marines; Santee, Calif.; Marine Corps Security Force Battalion, Second Marine Expeditionary Force.

GEIGER, Wayne M., 23, Specialist, Army; Lone Pine, Calif.; Third Squadron, Second Stryker Cavalry Regiment.
